AI Image Processing and Automation
Exhibitor A: Displayed real-time image processing software using advanced AI algorithms. New features specialized for quality inspection on manufacturing lines were announced, significantly reducing inspection times.
Exhibitor B: Demonstrated an automated inspection solution integrating AI image processing with a robotic arm. Notably, the practicality of combining this with a ROS-based control system was emphasized.
Robotics and Automation
At the Universal Robot (UR) booth, a robot simulation was displayed that used a 3D camera to detect objects and perform pick-and-place tasks. The control and simulation systems utilized Nvidia Jetson and Nvidia Isaac (similar to ROS).
Manufacturing Software and IT Systems
Exhibitor E: Showcased a software platform that supports the optimization of manufacturing processes. Automation of production scheduling utilizing AI and data analytics was a key highlight.
Exhibitor F: Introduced a factory management solution using digital twin technology. This integrated simulation and real-time data to enhance production efficiency.
Apptronik showcased humanoid robots designed for industries such as logistics, manufacturing, and retail.
OnRobot offers a system that automatically makes coffee.

Summary
IMTS 2024 provided a wide-ranging overview of the latest technologies and trends that indicate the future of manufacturing, offering many insights beneficial to our business. In particular, the new solutions related to the collaboration of AI and robotics and ROS-based control technologies hold great potential for future product development and service provision. As the next step, we aim to share the information gathered from the inspection within our company and consider specific implementation plans.
